I think the MS/Skype deal is a genius move for microsoft. By adding it to their tablet, core OS, and xbox and tying it to a hotmail account it basically takes the best feature of current iOS products (iMessage) and gives it to a huge user base. Once they more fully integrate the WP7/WP8 devices into the Xbox ecosystem I think they have a huge win.

I used a WP7 for a year and the only reason I went back to iOS was lack of compelling features whereas iOS allowed me to integrate my phone into the rest of my digital life.

I still think that the windows phone development should be moved to the xbox division as it would accelerate integration into Xbox services giving the gamer demographic a huge reason to migrate to windows phone but I doubt that will happen.

Just a thought.
