Their new smartphone even comes with Dr Dre Beats earbuds. Probably not a bad idea, they probably want people not to use their ipod and rely on their smartphone. Also need to distinguish themselves from a major competition from Motorola, esp now that it has been approved to be acquired by Google – did you hear about google bypassing Safari’s blocks?

I don’t think it is about them gaining top-place in the mobile industry. it is about them giving their customers some reason to keep using HTC.

The Problem with HTC is over reliance on Sense. Sense makes OS updates slow. And yes there is differentiation but at the cost of core features of Android.

I don’t think a new music service is going to help HTC in gaining top-place in the mobile industry. They need to come up with innovative phones and tablets to win this battle.

quite possibly HTC is playing a smart move, but the music service has to be something new and innovative, as there are alredy some great music streaming services working fine
