It would be more accurate to say these first chips are based on a draft of the 802.11ac standard. The 802.11ac standard is under development and doesn’t exist yet. It should in a year or so.

I have an Apple WiFi ‘n’ Network running at 5.7ghz ONLY in my home today.. It is faster and more stable than the 30′ish networks running at 2.4ghz all around me… It’s already has most of the pieces in place today – this will just make it better.

gigabit speeds on wireless open gigabit apps to everyone. just need the fiber in the ground to make this true internet tech, instead of LAN only tech.

Fantastic product!! Another item I’m looking for in a computerized package is an accurate reproduction of the tube stereo sound. That’s the holy grail of sound.
