This is the story of the "clean up" of Fukishima. Its costs begin in the billions and are expected to have to be in place for over 10 years. Am I the only one who thinks that nuclear power plants are an insanely costly and terribly dangerous option for power? When a big solar installation has an earthquake or a terrorist attack the costs to the investors and the environment are laughably low in comparison to a nuclear disaster. This country is so bought out by financially entrenched interests that we lack the flexibility of countries who are true democracies. We surrendered our democracy decades ago. Can we reclaim it? I certainly hope so!
