While you mention (with certainty) that Apple will make their own A series chip for the TV, what business then for these “chipmakers”? What you mean are chip foundries and the allied foodchain…Not getting into semantic jugglery, but companies such as Intel, Broadcom, Qualcomm, TI have been called chipmakers for years. Let’s not confuse a fab for a design house. You surely need an oven to bake a cake, but an oven isn’t everything.
