Hello Katie, Calera, Mr. Constantz sure have been quiet for a while. At the Water Forum in Monterey Mr. Constantz really disappointed me.

His proposal for desalinating ocean water from hundreds of feet below sealevel uses energy intensive Reverse Osmosis process, instead of the chemical desalination process he advocated previously. Wonder what went wrong?

Besides that Nader Agha, owner of the Moss Landing property (previously Kaiser Refractories)where Constantz researched at Moss Landing Cement had a falling out and was evicted. Mr Agha also proposed a less expensive RO process, since some of the plant equipment is already there.

I hoping that some brilliant chemist will invent a viable method of desalinating seawater using inexpensive chemical processes with several income streams and will blow seawater Reverse Osmosis out of the water and make RO obsolete.
Perhaps that will stop the folly of Santa Cruz/Soquel Water from building a $140Million 2.5MGD RO desal plant, a "white elephant" as soon as a viable chemical process is developed.
