MHL must be wireless. Everything has moved or is moving away from cords, especially regarding mobile phones. We can't feign ignorance with this now or use needing to charge our batteries with a cord as a crutch. How long are we going to be connected to a TV, anyway? Ten hours at a stretch? No. Much less than that. So battery life with our phones (since we're doing everything wirelessly on them, anyway) is irrelevant.

How convenient would it be to have to carry a stupid cord around with us every time we anticipate wanting to connect to an MHL-equipped TV? Not everyone with such a TV will have the proper cord available and people are not going to take one on the road everywhere they go. If it's not wireless, its adoption will be very limited. People do NOT want to be tethered, whether a cord is supplied or not. You'd think technology designers would understand this by now.
