I would also add that buildings in the near future will be off the grid completely, generating their own power from photovoltaic walls and roofs. The US is a leader in this area and many commercial buildings and manufacturers (like Focus Materials) are already run 100% from the sun. People still believe it’s not possible, weird! Many retail centers and malls are being converted as we speak to be off the grid, and soon cars will use NO gas (not like hybrids which under perform). The cars made by Tesla and the new Leaf are excellent examples of this and we should all embrace these companies who are trying to make a difference in a sometimes stubborn world in which people desperately hold on to old ideas- like burning up massive amounts of thick oil to produce power. Anyway, good luck to us all in our quest to become more advanced humans! Hopefully we won’t make it take too long! ;P
