i have a google+ account and eventhough my friends accepted the invite, their profiles seems like an abandoned account, they don’t get it. i can’t do anything much either except when i post updates about my new blog posts.

i kind of heard about google+ competing with facebook, but i find it a little hard to use and most of my friends still chose to stay and interact with facebook.

I have like 20-25 ‘friends’ on Google+ and two are active. Two. Compare that with Facebook whare I have 100-120 active out of about 150. I actually don’t think they will threaten facebook’s standing in a long time, if ever…

yes, that’s exactly the main benefit of Google+. As Google says, they reward content that generates conversations. If people are talking about and sharing your content, your search ranking will be higher. And to me that’s a good thing!

I think its great – Google+, on top of Google Search rewards quality over SEO tricks and takes the walls out of social media. It will never be another Facebook, because it doesn’t need to be to be better.

Though I would appreciate Google feeding me with the things it thinks I want, I would rather have the autonomy to make my own choice: how I watch YouTube, check e-mails, or search online.

The word out on the SEO street is that the thing is already a flop. I run a Goog shop and am utterly familiar with their strange weasel culture. I never bothered with Face Book or Twitter other than to suggest how they might be useful to businesses and non profits I work with.

I had an early “+” account and was disgusted by how they mine peoples e mail contacts. I’m told Face Book does it too but really. I shut all that crap off and just toss out ‘+1′s to promote stuff I respect. There is no way I’m wasting time corralling a bunch of ‘friends’.
