Do not update to this new version. It is absolute garbage. The call history is gone (I used this all the time in the old version). It is completely unresponsive. Sometimes I have to wait 15 to 20 seconds after pressing a button for it to respond. The messaging interface is terrible. It crashes constantly. As another poster mentioned, the multi-tasking is worse than the previous version. It’s almost like they didn’t test this before releasing it.

The new version of Skype sucks. It freezes up occasionally, and sometimes closes out the app when it freezes. I wish I would have NEVER upgraded the version

This new Skype is horrible. On my iphone, I used to be able to multitask with different audio applications such as YouTube while in the middle of a Skype call but now it just ends my call the second I try watching a video :( If that feature was important to anybody as it was to me then I highly recommend not updating your Skype app! Now I can’t watch movies or videos over Skype with my girlfriend anymore :’(

Although, I do like the look of the latest update I have some disappointments as well.

In addition to the notorious issue with credit not updating…

1) I used to be able to tell if a message went through based on the font changing from italics to non-italics. That no longer exists, which is disappointing because that is helpful to know when a connection is not so good. Is there some other way to be able to tell if a message has arrived to the recipient?

2) Why are timestamps so slow to ne added instead of being immediate. That’s annoying.

Unfortunately it’s showing me ads even though I’ve had a monthly Skype subscription for years, a SkypeIn phone number, extra Skype credit in my account, and a business account integrated with it too. It’s this sort of mistake that angers loyal customers like me.

New version show none of my Skype contacts at all… or recent chats. Got message about only supports “unmodified phone”. WTF
