Summary:

EA is giving away Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 for iPad and iPhone, both of which are free for Friday only. It’s a gesture to celebrate the PGA Tour championship, which kicked off Thursday. EA also has a big sale this weekend on most iPad titles.

Free games are a nice way to kick off a weekend, and there are two good ones to start this one off. EA is giving away both Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 for iPad, and the same game for the iPhone, free for Friday only. It’s a gesture to celebrate the PGA Tour Championship, which kicked off Thursday.

The games normally retail for $6.99 and $4.99 for the iPad and iPhone versions respectively. They’re fairly well-received by App Store reviewers, though there are quite a few mentions of crashes. Of course, bugs shouldn’t really enter into the decision-making process when you have a chance to grab the games for free.

EA is also offering most of its iPad titles for 90 percent off in the U.K., or around 70 percent off in the U.S. That puts a lot of its marquee titles at just $2.99 for U.S. shoppers, or only 69p (around $1 USD) for U.K. customers. I’ll probably finally cave and get Monopoly for iPad at that price.
