You can now add Kindle to the relatively short list of apps available for the HP (NYSE: HPQ) TouchPad, the company announced on the HP Palm blog. HP touted the Kindle app at the TouchPad’s launch three weeks ago, but it wasn’t available until now.

The app is not yet listed on Amazon’s Kindle Reading Apps page, and Amazon (NSDQ: AMZN) hasn’t made an official announcement about it.

The HP TouchPad Kindle app is currently only available in the U.S., even though the TouchPad was also launched in the UK, where there is a Kindle Store.

pre|central.net reviews the app here, concluding that while it’s still a little buggy, it’s a step toward leveling the playing field against the iPad.
