Google released its second-quarter financials on Thursday, hitting its first quarter with more than $9 billion in revenue. But on a call with financial analysts, it gave a whole bunch of nonfinancial metrics for how its various businesses are growing.

In no particular order, here are the numbers about all the other stuff that various Google execs dropped over the course of its earnings call.

Google+ and social:

  • More than 10 million Google+ users
  • More than 1 billion items shared and received each day
  • 2.3 billion +1 clicks each day

Android:

  • 550,000 Android devices activated every day
  • 135 million Android devices activated in total, up from 100 million at the start of the year
  • 6 billion apps downloaded from the Android Market

YouTube:

  • 3 billion daily video views
  • 100 million viewers of the Royal Wedding on YouTube
  • Over one-third of all YouTube’s in-stream ads are in its new skippable format

Other areas:

  • Voice search is up 6 times
  • 40 million songs were recorded on the Les Paul Google doodle

  1. As for the Googlge+, I finally had a chance to check it out, and to find out how it’s different from other social media channels. After spending two days of goofing off and circling with other people on the site, the differences are all about our PEE PEE :-)

  2. so 35 million new activations (135 million now – 100 million at the start of the year) in last lets say 5 months. That comes 150 days approx. So that comes on average of 230K new users everyday.

    If its measured on a weekly basis – then its important to also mention when did it hit and how long did it hit. Like any business there is seasonality in mobile phone business as well – some reasons like in China during Chinese new years you have a peak, while in India you have a peak during Diwali season, most of western world you have a peak during Christmas season … These number I assume are global not US only… so it need to be clarified really when did they 550K and for how long were they at that peak ? was it sustained or not ?
