Definitely a flop. There is a market for simple B&W e-readers, but that market is moving towards complete simplicity (read: touch screens and simple non-QWERTY interfaces). As an e-book-ophile, I buy some books from Google, but not all. A major appeal of the Nook, for example, is their well-curated library with most every major title from the last 10 years. Google isn't there yet.

Lamer technology, bookstore not up to snuff (never mind that most of the market buying e-books are traditional readers who probably aren't familiar with Google like they are with Borders, Amazon, and B&N)... I smell a flop.

Now the truly interesting part is that the HTC Thunderbolt in 3G mode allows both data and voice transmission at the same time... I was shocked when I saw it in action, so there is a benefit too dual radios ... I won't cross link but the anandtech guys have a good review on the tech bits of the HTC tech .

I agree with you on that, Bryan, and I'm betting that Verizon is pushing for Apple to include LTE in the next iPhone. I would, if I were them. But I think Verizon will have to prove to Apple (or Apple will have to prove to itself) that it can add LTE support in a way that doesn't take up too much space nor noticeably use up the battery any faster. If they can, more power to them - no pun intended. ;)

Wouldn't Apple be kicking Verizon in the sack releasing a new iPhone with only HSPA+. That would, according to their marketing definition, give AT&T a 4G phone but Verizon will still be stuck with EVDO (3G).
