I suspect the 10,000 number is correct and based on the total amount of API registrations (i.e. API key’s in the dev community) worldwide. I have attracted more than 5,000
developers to a platform before, and in a very short period of time, so 10,000 is not surprising considering Naveen created the first 4sq API summer 2009.
