1. LTE support. Apple isn't holding back because LTE isn't widely available. They're holding back for the same reasons they always hold back...because it will drain their battery and Apple's BIGGEST selling point to the unaware is the battery life. If they stuck LTE in there and the iphone was able to do more work then the world would see that their battery drains just like any other battery.

2. NFC. You do realize that NFC has been used for years everywhere in the world except the U.S.? this isn't some new tech that needs to grow. We ( America ) are just late to the party and Apple will be even later as usual. Is there any wonder why the iphone is losing share and ground? You can hype up Apple all you want, but the numbers don't lie.

3. Entertainment center? I think every phone on the market has this going for them. I have all this stuff on my phone and by the end of the year I'll be turning on my tv, lights, microwave etc with my phone. The games are the same games that are on the iphone but I'm not really into little phone video games since I'm a hardcore gamer. I use my xbox 360 or PS3 for that. People that play video games on their phone aren't gamers so it's not the same.

The iPhone is truly a revolutionary product, and the icing on Apple's exceedingly tasty cake. When so many other smartphone developers are still so far off the mark, it is difficult to judge apples with Apples (pun, of course, intended) however you're right, the iPhone is definitely not going anywhere anytime soon.

I particularly agree with your point about NFC; until the market is ready for this, which outside Japan mostly, the world has not woken up to the technology yet, it seems unlikely that Apple will push for the system on their phones. Well, it will either play out like that, or Apple will surprise everybody by beating the curve and push another pioneering piece of technology into our lives, even before we ever knew we needed it (à la iPad).

Let me get this straight... just because Apple did something YEARS ago, they have to do it the same way THIS year... and all future years... forever?

Even all the mistakes Apple made... that have to follow that exact same plan in the future?

Huh?
