T-Mobile’s chief attractions are they have good customer service and great plans, particularly their $100 pre-pay. The merger will probably kill the former, but I the latter better remain if AT&T wants to keep me.

And yes, almost pervasive WiFi is also a reason for unlocking and going with T-Mobile. I have WiFi access at five of the six places I regularly spend time. With that, who needs a data plan?

The T-Mobile iPhone users all left AT&T.. If they wanted to be ‘legitimized’ they would have stayed there.
