@Niall

Audio books - sit back, close your eyes, listen to a melodic voice reading the book - or the actual author! Ahhh come on Niall - get yourself a Kindle - or better still a color Nook.

Look how socially viral the Harry Potter books became - we had to read the book before the movie!

I don't need to prove anything to myself anymore - I know I can read! So audio books are perfect for me - when I am driving, in line, on the plane....and I don't care if an Amazon banner pops up - I'm not reading it anyway!

@Niall - I don't disagree that a large part of reading should be solitary, but also I think reading is also very social in people like to share what they're reading, have conversations about, etc. Goodreads has shown this to be true. Now, how would social reading look within a Facebook context - not entirely sure, but I think that it can be a good curation, sharing and comment platform, and ultimately be a channel for e-book consumption.

I agree with most of them but I just can't see books ever happening. I know you have it way down the list but I don't want books to be social and I'm not sure anybody does. On the rare occasions I do get to read it's for a bit of piece and quiet and the last thing I want is some sort of Facebook notification popping in there. Everything else does make sense though.
