Describes this very well. I was doing in an amateur way what Andy Carvin was doing professionally just because I was fascinated/obsessed by the Arab revolutions. We implemented a way to publish these curated lists on CapitalMarkets.com as we are tracking a highly complex subject (transparency in capital markets) and so needed first to find the real experts to follow.

Hi Marshall, I learned this game from you although at first I did no really get what you were doing as I never got the Delicious habit. Methinks Twitter replaces Delicious? What will those smart folk who bought Delicious do with it?

As a blogger/journalist who's been dependent on Twitter for my work for the past 4 years now (http://marshallk.com/twitter-is-paying-my-rent ) I'm very glad to hear that he's finding Twitter Lists useful. I've read as well that Sky News is a big user of Tweetdeck. The more that respected people like this talk publicly about their use not just of Twitter but of Twitter power tools, the more support those tools should find, the more viable they'll be and the more (hopefully) Twitter HQ will support continued development of the power tools of the future, in house and by 3rd parties.

Another thoughtful and well articulated article about the changes caused by social media, Mathew, thanks for that and for the pointer to Mann's post.

Isn't this sort of like the news clipping service of the future? We tend to assume that journalists are always the ones producing this kind of service for others, but clearly these sorts of tasks add value to journalism too. In a landscape overflowing with data, I have to imagine that more and more professions and eventually institutions will focus on curating content.
