Excellent summary, EMC and IBM seem to be leading the way in solutions that create more value from big data, especially as it relates to predictive analytics.

The EMC / SAS announcement follows last month’s release of the EMC / Zementis solution for in-database deployment of predictive analytics based on the Predictive Model Markup Language (PMML) standard. Supported by all major data mining tools, commercial and open source, PMML provides a standards-based route to leverage complex predictive analytics in various IT infrastructure scenarios, from in-database to cloud computing.

Zementis Announces In-Database Scoring Solution for the EMC Greenplum Database.
Universal PMML Plug-in to deliver massively parallel execution of predictive analytics based on open standards.
