I thought about paying the $99 to be a WP7 dev but I just couldn’t justify it because the current API is laughably worthless. So either I’d be paying $99 to sit around and wait for Microsoft to get it’s act together and publish real APIs to allow devs to write real apps or I’d be paying $99 to watch a fairly pointless system twist in the wind for a year or two before finally being abandoned by nearly everyone. Either way, I have better things to do with $99, like 30 seats at a baseball game. Go Nats!

Nice gravitar and thanks for pointing out my oversight! Working on a correction now. 12 apps per month over just a few months is actually a solid number, but sales figures would be nice to have. ;)

I am a registered developer but I can only use Verizon as a carrier in my area. There is no Verizon WP7 phone available. No developer worth their salt is going to publish an APP that has not been tested on a real device!

Hey, Kevin it’s me netwiz. I finally made a gravatar. :) I just wanted say the windows phone developer blog says users download 12 apps a * month * not * has installed * 12 apps. I agree with you though that either way those numbers are just plain pitiful… Here’s the link.
