Lifestyle blog network Glam Media has acquired Canadian brand advertising media company BBS Media (Boxer B-Scene Media). The deal, terms of which were undisclosed, is part of Glam’s entry into the Canadian market and will serve as the launching pad for its fifth country-specific site.
Canada is the fifth country Glam has planted its flag in. In addition to BBS, this summer Glam plans to unveil a Canadian site. Glam.ca will present the company’s usual range of lifestyle categories including beauty, fashion, health and wellness, and sports.
The acquisition of BBS also gives Glam extended ties to the Toronto company’s publishing partners, including Forbes.com, Washington Post (NYSE: WPO) Digital, Women’s Health Magazine. Under the terms of the acquisition, BBS Media’s co-founders, Mark Boxer and Brian Fields, will serve as VPs of Glam Media Canada, handling publisher and brand-advertising sales, and continuing to operate BBS within Glam.
