Every content posted on stackexchange sites is licensed under creative commons and always fetchable via the API (in fact, there are some services who regularly backup and compile questions & answers out of the stack exchange network).
This means, you don’t give your knowledge to a company, you give it to the internet community.

It’s about time they got a little bit of love. I’ve been saying for that last year that it’s one of the more useful formats for getting information. All of the noise and inappropriate touching for Quora is completely misplaced. SE already solved the problem.

The great thing about StackOverflow is that its focus is on quality of content first, followed by everything else. Unlike so many other endeavors these days which focus on advertising first, advertising second and in a far off last place, quality content.
