DeLorme is still PC software...

Additionally DeLorme uses out-of-date TIGER road data from the US Census (conversely RouteBuddy uses up-to-date road network data from TomTom).

RouteBuddy has many other advantages but feel free to mail support@RouteBuddy.com if you need more advice on choosing the best software for your needs.

Paul,

Windows software, on a Mac? :-(

RouteBuddy not only offers worldwide road maps from TomTom but also can layer Topo maps above or below Road maps at the same time.

There's only one company in the world that can do that on Mac OS X - and that's RouteBuddy.

(There's only one on Windows too, but not Garmin though...)

Sorry, looks like Mobile PC was discontinued. Unfortunate because it was a really nice product. I suppose there was not a lot of call with handhelds leading the way. I think Delorme still exists though.

It drives me crazy that I cannot pair an external Bluetooth GPS with my iPad, and use something like TOMTOM. I see no good reason for Apple to prevent this.
