I recently stumbled upon a neat little tool for the PC. It is called ‘iTwin’ made by a small german software company. http://www.i-twin.de/en/
Many backup features that should already be included in iTunes like view and export of contacts, text messages (sms), calendar and more. Rock stable, and boy, it saved my day cause my iPhone was stuck in recovery mode …

Does anybody know what happened to the feature that consolidates three smaller tracks into one larger track? I used to do it just fine (but only if the original CD was still in the machine). Now I can’t find it (Windows) although Tech Support says she has it on hers (Mac 10). In lieu of that, does anybody know how much loss is experienced when converting to mp3 and then back to acc?

LB, it may be that you have reach the 5 machine limit using your Apple iTunes account. In iTunes, log into your account. Click the arrow beside your AppleID in the upper right and select “Account”.

Note the section “Computer Authorizations”. If it says 5 then you have reached your limit of the number of computers you can play iTunes Purchases. Clicking “Deauthorize All” will clear the entry and allow you start fresh. You should only have to enter you AppleID one more time to reauthorize the same computer and then never again until you reach the 5 computer limit again.

Um, it may have been just a typo, but the more accurate shortcut for preferences is “command+,” not “command+<". "command+<" creates ambiguity (do I need to hit shift?) and confusion (everyone else is using "command+,").

Good post, though. I liked the one about searching the store from anywhere. That has always bugged me!

I like the scroll wheel tip. But for for scrolling straight to the beginning or end of something, I just hit the left or right arrow.

Any idea how to get iTunes to recognize my computer as authorized? I need to authorize every time I sync the computer… never used to need to do that.

I would like to add an easy way to find iTunes content. Just google your query followed by “site:itunes.apple.com”. For example, if you are looking for Angry Birds for iPhone, type “Angry Birds iPhone site:itunes.apple.com” (without the quotes).

You can even configure the your Browser or Alfred (the incredibly useful Launcher for Mac) to search for iTunes content by keyword.
