I agree- to be a comprehensive article, you should list the solutions currently available, and have the user decide what they would prefer to pursue. Leaving out an option (such as AirPrintActivator which works perfectly) just because it's unsupported seems short-sighted.

I understand why you wouldn't want to include it because it's unsupported, but why would you not want to include it because it's free? Why should we have to pay to enable this?

The only reason I can assume that Apple themselves haven't enabled AirPrint for all printers is that they want to make sure that there are as few bugs as possible, and that there are no driver issues. However, I imagine that in time Apple will enable AirPrint for more and more devices until eventually all or nearly all printers are compatible. That's why I refuse to pay for a solution now, and I'll take my chances with AirPrint Activator.

Why's that? Apple is a great company, but it has shown patterns. These include proving they have the capabilities the consumer asks for, but if they gave them all out at once, what would they give when the next year came around? They hold back, and if I want to print with my setup I don't see the problem in that.

If you install Printopia, it should enable printing via your iPad. They have a free trial, so you have nothing to loose. It's not an "ecosystem" issue as a vast majority of printers, regardless of connection, aren't supported in AirPrint
