Summary:

For this week’s Green Overdrive show, we take Volkswagen’s Blue-e-motion Golf for a spin. It has four driving modes to tweak the regenerative braking, which I liked, but it won’t be on the market until late 2013, or 2014, which I didn’t like.

Volkswagen won’t be launching its all-electric car the Blue-e-motion Golf until late 2013, or 2014, but when we drove the electric Golf around the streets of Los Angeles, it felt like it was ready to go into mass production. In contrast to other cars we’ve driven, the Blue-e-motion also has four driving modes that drivers can use to change how aggressive, or not, the regenerative braking of the car is. I actually really liked the different driving options! I don’t like the wait, though, launch this puppy already! Watch our test drive:
