OMGPOP, which began as a multiplayer game developer on the web but has since expanded into mobile and Facebook, has raised $10.1 million in a second round of funding. OMGPOP is behind Cupcake Corner, a Facebook title with more than 1.6 million monthly active users. Its other popular titles include the multiplayer games Draw My Thing and Balloono. Overall, the company says its titles are signing up more than 50,000 new users daily.

OMGPOP says it will use the new cash to expand its roster of games. The company tells us it’s set to launch five games for Facebook and iPhone over the next six months and will also be looking to buy up smaller mobile and social developers. (It will have lots of competition on that front, considering the acquisitiveness of other players in this space).

The company had last raised $5 million in a round led by Bessemer Ventures in March 2009. This round was led by new investors Rho Capital and Softbank; existing backers Spark Capital and Betaworks also participated.
