There are some downsides, but productivity is not one of them (if you’re suited for that kind of role). The biggest issue for me is “shutting down the office” – I tend to work all the time on stuff and put in more like 12-14 hrs/day… not 7. But I guess if you like what you’re doing, it’s not really “work” is it ?

I work at my office in Rome for the majority of the time (when I’m not visiting customers), but sometimes I need to return to the company’s headquarters near Milan for a day or two.
Frequent coffee breaks, casual chatting and interruptions are the rule there, and I always have this strong feeling of not being as productive as usually.
