RIM is a tiny fraction of the size of Apple. They are not going to be able to offer a true mobile PC like Apple has done with iPad, so they are going to offer a Web browser for you to tether to your BlackBerry. It will do less and sell less, so the RIM CEO should stay out of pissing matches with the Apple CEO. Especially when the PlayBook Web browser is using Apple WebKit, the OS X browser core. If Steve Jobs is so wrong, why is RIM releasing a device which is a copy of an Apple product and which relies heavily on actual Apple software?

I agree totally, I think he needs to whiz back to 2008 and look at all the noise made about getting native apps on the iPhone, Jobs tried to persuade us all that webapps were the way to go and that didn't pan out well for him. Crikey, if Steve Jobs couldn't persuade us that something was the best way to do it then Jim Balsillie doesn't have much chance

Balsillie is delusional. He's clearly trying to drum up some more hype for the non-existent PlayBook. RIM could become the next Nortel.

I love your points here! - Balsillie mentions why not just use the content that's already on the web (flash websites) instead of mobile apps but think about this logically - many flash websites are programmed to be navigated through using a mouse so all of the websites that use mouse_over and mouse_hover won't actually work? So now the programmers still have go back and re code the website anyways, so instead of paying your developers to re code your website in flash, why not just have them do it in HTML 5 to eliminate the issue entirely?! - his comments were childish as far as I'm concerned.
