The iPad is so thin and sexy it’s almost a shame to bulk it up with a case. It does need protection, however, and a search will probably turn up over a hundred cases to choose from. I’m testing one which has an added twist to the usual case benefits. The Dooble Bluetooth Keyboard Case has a wireless keyboard embedded in the fake leather case that can turn the tablet into a typing machine. This video demonstrates all aspects of the case, including its shortcomings.
The keyboard isn’t a full-size model, due to the size of the iPad, and that takes a little getting used to for touch typists. The keys are rubbery and feel a little strange, but typing isn’t adversely affected. In the video, the case is shown open and closed, and the keyboard is demonstrated in operation. The video makes it clear how unappealing it is to use the iPad as a tablet while inside this case.
The case is sold online by Solid Line for $119.00, which is a hefty price. Those who need to frequently enter lots of text on the iPad may be able to justify that price, and get a case in the bargain. This Bluetooth keyboard is being sold under other names, as evidenced in our review of this Kensington KeyFolio case.

Let’s box this puppy up and send it to the Obama so he can type his letter of resignation after last nights slaughter of the dumbocrats.
He is a total disgrace to his party. No Obama coattails that is for sure. Dude is now desparately trying to work his way to the center so he remains relevant.
This keyboard is not up to Apple’s standards just like Obama is not up to Whitehouse standards (even thought they are much lower than Cupertino’s).

what are you talking about?
apple doesn’t have standards
Where can I get that Starbucks mug, featured in the video, from?
They don’t seem to sell them on the Starbucks online store…
This review is so unbelievably boring. Is this guy having a stroke? Forget the keyboard/case thing- this guys could make a Meghan Fox strip tease uninteresting.
I just wish Clamcase would get off their butts and finally release theirs. Hard case, integrated bluetooth keyboard, 360 degree hinge for tablet or netbook type use. So far, it looks like the best of the iPad cases to me … except for the part about still being vaporware.
I agree with you there. If it ever does come to market, I’d love to get my hands on one.
Why i was censored while “Tea Party One” not ?
Is Tea Party sponsor of GigaOM ???
I think his post is more agressive than mine who was first informative, and like a joke at the end with…
God, please, preserve the world from Sarah Palin !
Thanks for a great video review! I thought I might want one of these to replace my Apple wireless iPad keyboard for working on the fly… But you have changed my mind! I will continue to tuck the one I have into my iPad bag.
One thing I noted is the absolute flatness of their keyboard… Not the best way to touch type… I even find myself leaning my wireless against a nearby item to give me more of an angle for an easier typing angle… Cannot happen with the Dooble… So I guess I will leave it on the shelf. Thanks for saving me $120!
