If you can't watch the stream, you can tune into a live blog, such as Mac|Life's and keep track of whats going on. That's what I have to do, seeing as I'll be in class during the event. Here's the link:

See just because a standard is open does not cause it to magically implemented on all platforms... Sorry that you cannot watch it live, but just like last time a h264 mpeg4 vid will most likely be poste within the hour on Apple.com...

So if you cannot wait that long you should already be heading over to the nearest Apple store to get some gear... No offence intended

So to sum it up, moan to some android dev and or vlan dev to implement a http streaming player or suck up the less than hour wait ;)

Gee Steve thanks for your industry leading "open" standards, i guess it's only open if you have a Mac. I'm at work with an Android phone and a Lenovo desktop so I guess I won't be watching.

I think Steve's open standards suck, I mean how am I supposed to be wooed away from my closed standard system when I can't even tune in to see what's so cool about a Mac unless I'm already a part of the club.

Usually when I watch a movie that claims to be 'based on a true story" it means that the movie has almost no resemblance to the actual facts; that many "creative liberties" have been taken by both the screen writer and the director to make the story more interesting. I guess that to Apple, "based on open standards" means the same thing, having no resemblance of the truth.
