for me the #1 issue for not switching is autosave. sure, I should be saving on my own but when I’m really absorbed in thought and getting the most done, I forget. this is also the time when I have the most to lose. Do this once or twice and you’ll never use iwork again.

Numbers’ big problem is speed. Our business budgeting spreadsheet has about 10 sheets and makes substantial use of string-based lookups and the category subtotal feature. We get 30 second load times and very slow responses to certain edits. I’ve been waiting over a year for a performance upgrade. Still waiting.

Very unhappy about no iWork ’11 announcement today! Also, with the changes to iPhoto…when are they going to update Aperture 3.0 which now is outclassed, in some areas, by iPhoto????

I’d just love it if I could see a cell reference anywhere once I’ve clicked into a cell (if they are also called cells in Numbers). I can see the value but maybo someone (anyone?) can enlighten me?

I too would like to see layer control in Keynote, as well as the replace image functionality of PowerPoint.

The worst part of Keynote for me and the thing that really, really, REALLY (!!!) needs to be fixed is the inability to scroll above or to the left of a slide. Having the slide locked in at the top left corner is a nightmare for animation work. Why can’t we have 360 degree access to the pasteboard, like PowerPoint has had for…forever? Completely baffling.

I would love it if iPhoto had some sort of family sharing. My wife and I both have multiple macs, sometimes I import to my iMac, sometimes to my MBP. My wife sometimes has the camera and imports to one or the other. Sometimes the photos on my iPhone she wants because we were at the same event together. I wish there was a way photos, or events, or libraries could be synced across computers on a network. It doesn’t have to be in the cloud, but if I open iPhoto and my wife has hers open, it would be rad to click an event and “send” to her iPhoto library as well. Or something.

Numbers does fine with my at-home spreadsheet needs (budgets, gas mileage tracking), but the lack of Pivot Tables, VBA (or similar scripting language), more powerful Conditional Formatting, and row/column limitation make it an absolute no-go for my at-office work. Pivot Tables, especially, are a critical part of my daily workflows (as an engineer who often pours over chip test and inventory data with 10′s of thousands of datapoints that are updated daily) and there is nothing in Numbers that could come close to handling that data as easily as Pivot Tables.

The juicy stuff I want from Numbers was gutted from Excel, but if it could add the Data Analysis Pack features like Excel has in Windows, that would be nice. At this point, you can't take an intro stats class without ANOVA.
