Well, until this last quarter, the iPod touch had been driving iPod revenue higher, so it must be the iPhone 4, if it is the iPhone.

Agreed, and good point. And the iPod operates as sort of a gateway drug. Many people with iPod touches later go out and buy iPhones, so they get the extra connectivity and only have to carry around one device. Obviously, they probably don’t go out and buy a new iPod ever again. I know I haven’t.

It’s really quite astounding. How times have changed from the dark days of the past.

I suspect it is actually the iPhone that is cannibalizing the iPod. Once you have the iPhone, you really have all the ipod functionality already, no?
