Another executive shift at Yahoo: SVP of media products and solutions Jeff Kinder, who helps “drive strategy and execution” for a host of Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) properties, including the home page, News, Finance, Entertainment and Small Business, and led both the company’s purchase of Citizen Sports and its sale of Hot Jobs this year, is switching roles at the company, a spokeswoman tells us.
The spokeswoman tells us Kinder made the “personal decision” to leave his current job several weeks ago and is now “working with executive leaders to find a new role within the company.” That would presumably explain why Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz did not list Kinder in her memo last week, which confirmed the departure of three other senior executives.
TechCrunch, which reported last week that Kinder was leaving Yahoo, speculates that the company may announce a reorganization on Tuesday that will hand more responsibility to chief product officer Blake Irving, who joined the company in April. That would seem to fit with Kinder’s decision to step down from his current job. Yahoo initially hired Kinder to lead HotJobs three years ago.
