We’ve been surprised at the high quality of cars being offered into the network. The first car (my own) is a 2008 Highlander Hybrid. Others that we will be adding include an Audi, a Prius, and a pickup truck.

We have full insurance coverage that is more than most people carry, e.g. $1,000,000 liability. As an owner, you aren’t on the hook for repairing dents, etc. (unless they are yours of course!)

We won’t be accepting beaters into the fleet. It makes for a bad user experience and lots of headaches for everyone.

Its true, its a state of mind. If your car is your baby, this isn’t for you. If your car is a utility, sign up!

I’m actually a city car share member and the cars are generally well taken car of. There’s fees if you leave a car dirty and drivers are supposed to report if anything happens to the car. There’s insurance that covers everything, too. It’s just a different state of mind. Also I think the service specifically isn’t for beaters, the cars can’t be too old or in a bad state and have to be reliable. Remember the car owner will be making money off of the car.

???? I don’t even trust strangers to park next to my car without denting it, let along allowing them to drive it…..

I guess this will work for people who drive beater cars they don’t care about….
