[This is a corrected version of an earlier item] In advance of fall TV season’s kick off next week, The ABC (NYSE: DIS) Television Group and The Nielsen Company have developed an iPad app for one of the network’s new primetime dramas in hopes of seeing how much of a connection there is between iPad use and regular TV viewing. The free My Generation Sync iPad app was available this morning in iTunes’ App Store. The app isn’t for viewing the actual program when you’re not in front of your TV — that will be handled by the ABC Primetime app that launched at the same time the iPad was released. Rather, it’s meant for users during real-time, at which point, special extras will “sync” up during commercial breaks and various pivotal moments during the show.
