Google (NSDQ: GOOG) has indeed purchased Israeli video startup Quiksee. The deal was first reported by Israeli newspaper Haaretz this week-end, which put the price at $10 million, although neither company would confirm it then. With Quiksee, users shoot video of a location, and Quiksee’s software then puts the clips together as a 3-D video tour. Videos are shared on Google Maps.

In a short note on the Quiksee site, the company says it will be joining the Google “geo” team. From the message: “Both Google and Quiksee share the same innovative
vision, and while we can’t share any future product plans, we look forward to the opportunity to contribute and do great things together in the future.”

By our count, this is Google 28th acquisition since last August.
