So, along with a long list of phone devices, it seems Samsung has made some serious compromises with their Galaxy S line of phones, and the Epic in particular.

It has less onboard storage than the GSM devices or the Fascinate, the 340MB of RAM is verifiable--I have one, and that is what it shows is available. But what is truly untenable is the capped upload data to 150kbps. For a phone with a front-facing camera and $10 a month for a "premium data experience" that doesn't compete with 3G phones of 4 years ago.

If this isn't fixed within my first 30 days, this phone is going back. In fact right now it may be going back on general principle!

SCAM ONLY 340MB OF RAM Sorry but your wrong about the 512mb of ram.Samsung is running a scam and people need to start posting all over the web about it.
The phone only comes with 340mb of available ram.I know because I own 2(mine and my fiances). They decided to use the other 172mb for a ram disk it seems.Devs are trying to figure out why.I didnt realize this until I got home and used an app that shows available ram.
There is a few apps you can use to test this.I first noticed it
when using Memory Booster Lite. Please post this information where ever you can they should not be able to get away with this.
                                             Thankyou

I am choosing between epic and evo too and have really been researching it. I went down to the local sprint store to actually try out the evo I am going to do the same and compare the two. I have the slide out keyboard now and love it. When I tired the evo at the store that was the one thing I didn't like about it.... can anyone explain how the wi-fi works. can I work on my laptop and talk and text at the same time or is the device unusable when say, my laptop is on the wi-fi?

I love the Evo 4g because of its screen size. I love my Palm Pre because of the refined WebOs (really IMO the best mobile OS), and I am interested in the Samsung Epic because of its Super Amoled screen.

I am indecisive, should I wait for the Epic?

<

p>What are the differences?

I am torn between sticking with my Pixi - N900 combo or upgrading to this -- I'm eligible, and the phone looks great, but the touchstone charger is really cool and I love the Pixi's form factor...

I'm sure if anybody can do a good QWERTY keyboard then HTC is it. I love my Touch Pro 2, but as James mentions, I'm also curious why they didn't put the ! and @ keys on 1 and 2 where they should be. Lack of good keyboards has kept me away from Android and WebOS so far. If HTC can pull something out of their hat then I may be moving over to Android in the future.

Ive had both the Evo and the Samsung Vibrant.. I love both but the Evo is a bit sluggish at times and always has errors when sending texts.. the vibrant on the other hand was smooth and well the screen just popped.. I loved the vibrant.. only reason why I returned it was the network.. dropped calls etc.. so I went to the DroidX with Verizon.. I switched to the Epic from DX because the DX had no room for changing the UI.. you were pretty much stuck with what Moto gave you.. on top of that the DX UI was quite bland and boring.. I wanted something more exciting.. Plus the Epic has a front facing camera.. wohoo I can video chat with my friends across the country!

I just hope this is the start of some more QWERTY Android devices. The couple of offerings up until now have been pretty poor.

Now with Samsung properly in the game, there is some credible competition for HTC, so lets hope this rivalry will inspire some creativity!
