After less than two months on the block, Forbes Media has sold financial education site Investopedia to lead gen provider ValueClick (NSDQ: VCLK) for $42 million. In June, Forbes retained the Jordan, Edmiston Group, Inc. three years after it bought the Canadian site.

The announcement comes a few weeks after Forbes purchased freelance journalism site True/Slant, which was shut down last week and will remain live as an archive site only.
