In what has to be seen as somewhat of a coup for Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO), considering the list of high-profile executives that have left recently, the company has hired Bill Shaughnessy, who was Microsoft’s VP of global ad sales and services until he left a year-and-a-half ago. Shaughnessy, however, isn’t filling the top sales job at Yahoo, which has been vacant since Joanne Bradford left in March.

Instead, he will be SVP of product management and will report to chief product officer Blake Irving, who also hails from Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) and joined Yahoo in May. A Yahoo spokeswoman tells us that Shaughnessy will be responsible “for driving ongoing product strategy, product planning and product marketing across Yahoo!
