Changing your version of SlingPlayer Mobile is something that’s been allowed for a long time. I understand that you don’t want to be seen as asking for a favor as a journalist, but rest assured, it’s been standard practice.
If memory serves, all you need to do is download the new version of SlingPLayer you want to try, and then once it loads type in the registration number from your previous version and it will notify you that your previous version was for XYZ platform, would you like to switch? I’ve moved back and forth from Windows Mobile to S60 several times, but only paid once.
