You will find the Notes on your Mac in Mail. Also, you can sync your Notes over the air with gmail without the need for iTunes. Since the IOS has changed some since the original post, to get started, in Settings choose to Add Account… -> Other -> Add Mail Account -> enter in your gmail account and password -> make sure IMAP is selected [if not available will need to go to your gmail settings and enable IMAP] -> and then fill in the info for incoming and outgoing as above -> in the IMAP window, turn off Mail and turn on Notes.

If your Notes are all on your iPhone or on your Mac, in the Notes area of Mac Mail – under Reminders – you can copy the notes from On My Mac to the Gmail notes and then those will sync back to your iPhone probably within a few minutes.

Hope this is enough to get you going.

It appears this does not work over the air anymore. I have sinced stopped relying on Apple. I now have an icon to Googles task and use it. Work great. http://www.sirslur.com/2010/10/17/iphone-notes/

This was already done for me, and of my 20 notes 7 are synced. And not the oldest 7 or newest 7, but a bunch of old ones, one I made 3 days ago, but not one I edited today.

After downloading the newest SW version, I no longer have the notes option. I only have mail and calendar. How can I get it back?!

Google Sync is AMAZING. It syncs contacts, calendars, and email perfectly. Then what you do is turn on contact syncing in the Facebook app. Facebook will add photos of your contacts to your iPhone, and those photos will be synced to Google. So sweet.

Push definitely definitely definitely drains the battery. Just fetch every 15 minutes.

Hi david…i read ur post n i configured a separate imap ac. for gmail
as advised but i dn get at the option to toggle the mail n notes function..
I evn have an xchange a.c for google…
I need the notes to sync with gmail asap as im gettin the new iphone…
Plz help buddy
