Haim Saban, fresh off of buying back the rights to the Power Rangers characters from Disney (NYSE: DIS), tells the WSJ he would take a “serious look” at acquiring Newsweek magazine. He joins 70 other interested parties who he says have received financial materials regarding the magazine’s sale from Allen & Co., which was hired by the Washington Post Co. (NYSE: WPO) to explore the possible sale of the newsweekly last week.

Saban didn’t identify the other prospective buyers looking at Newsweek. He did note that he looked into buying the magazine two years ago, but the interest was not reciprocated on the WaPoCo’s side. “I would be remiss if I didn’t look at it now, but the world has significantly changed in the last two years, and not for the better,” he told the WSJ.
