In a sign of greater consolidation in the mobile gaming space, iPhone gamer ngmoco has acquired Stumptown Game Machine, makers of the pet simulation Touch Pets Dogs. The two companies have worked together in the past and collaborated on TPD for the iPhone and iPod Touch last fall. The acquisition was driven by the early success of the TPD app, which has been downloaded more than five million times. Terms were not disclosed.

Ngmoco is clearly ready for some acquiring. The company raised $40 million in the past two years, according to Business Insider. In February, the company bought hot iPhone developer FreeVerse. Release
