I’ve played these games. You are not interacting socially. The whole point is to hook you and have you buy worthless virtual goods to make your virtual farm or mafia “better”. Peoples lives would be better without the distraction of social gaming. The Facebook model where people interact and exchange pictures, stories etc. is an excellent one. FB is a truly social place to be. Zynga games are lame, have no social value, are all about money for Zynga, and are a waste of the short time we have on this planet. Facebook doesn’t need Zynga, Zynga needs FB. Facebook has social value, Zynga does not- period.
