I am beyond frustrated with my mobile hot spot. If the window at least showed an X instead of BARS when the connection dies then maybe I wouldn't get so annoyed - as it stands now one of us has to discover the Internet is no linger available!

I do have slightly better results since switching to 3G Preferred from 4G Preferred. Give that a try!! Good luck!!!

Hi Kathleen,

Have you been able to fix the "battery critical charge imediately"? I seem to have a fully charged battery, but I get this error message every time. Any thoughts would be well appreciated!

I have had nothing but trouble with my Overdrive for months now. Requires dozens of pluggings/unpluggings until it sees the power cord is attached...often doesn't recognize when it is plugged in - or looks like it is charging but then shows the power bars instead of the charging indicator so it shut itself off "power critical" "charge immediately" "shutting down" all while I'm desperately trying to again plug/unplug to get it to see it is plugged in - never mind that is has been plugged in all along (doesn't matter whether AC Adapter or USB plug to PC)

It constantly loses internet connection, lost track this morning after six (6) times in one hour where I lost internet access on my PC so of course the iPod Touch was also useless for apps emails and IM!!
Two of us with the Overdrive 8 hours workdays and just myself nights and weekends - we have not yet come anywhere near the Sprint max of 5 gb data limit on my monthly bill.
I have no clue as to download/upload speeds - all my energy is going toward praying it keeps the Web access until I finish whatever pressing task I am on --- email, facebook, online banking, iQuarium, We Rule, Godfinger, TouchPets... numerous apps and games which require internet access.

Judging by the entries from other users on the Sprint Overdrive face book page my issues are far too common!

the entry here by Scott B in April 2010 indicates his stops but it also restarts (by itself with no human intervention??)

Remarkably I got all of the above typed in one session. I did not fare anywhere near as well with my online holiday shopping!

4G at less than 2mbps? Things are different over here. I get 20-60mbps when I have 4G connection, which is anywhere in the city center, even 3G never drops under 2mbps.

I'm guessing 4G means different things depending on tech provider.

Just wanted to mention that people might want to ask Sprint about data caps on the Sprint Overdrive and wireless internet cards. I think the cap is at 5g. To avoid the cap, you can do as I did and buy the Sprint HTC EVO phone. It allows you to connect up to 8 devices. There are no data caps. And the phone itself has so many features on it that it might as well be a miniature notebook. I love it. It does run 3g/4g and though speedtest.net shows it running slower than my other satellite wireless internet connection (in a 3g area) I heven't noticed any difference. I have been unable to test in a 4g area, though I'm sure it would be impressive.
