– Stats: Smartphone adoption grew 70 percent in the UK last year, compared to France (48 percent), Germany (34 percent), Spain (27 percent) and Italy (11 percent), says comScore (NSDQ: SCOR) MobiLens. 11.1 million UK people had smartphones in January (Symbian 46.9 percent, iPhone 20.5 percent, RIM (NSDQ: RIMM) 18.7 percent, MS 10.7 percent, Google (NSDQ: GOOG) 3 percent).
– Bambuser: Dutch mobile news video firm ProSkope is taking on the Swedish mobile vid streamer to offer newsrooms a live newsgathering video solution, adding to its deal with Finnish broadcaster YLE. Last week, Bambuser began offering itself as a live feedback service for emergency services, via Ideaviate.
– MirrorFootball: The newspaper’s football website has launched an iPhone app at £1.19, offering its news, stats, videos, social sharing etc.
– Spotify: The music service has updated its iPhone app (to 0.4) to build in Last.fm scrobbling, play resumption after quitting the app and use of iPod tracks in Spotify playlists. Read here.
