Two charts for you this morning, this time from Gannett (NYSE: GCI), and little explanation needed beyond that, despite all the spin and justification in the company’s proxy filing this morning. It isn’t just a company-specific issue, of course, with lots macro issues affecting the numbers, both on revenue and compensation sides.

First chart, from Gannett’s latest annual 10K filed last month, on revenue declines from 2008 to 2009: (click on thumbnail for full chart)

The second, the summary compensation table for the top execs at Gannett, for 2009:(click on thumbnail for full chart)

You decide.
