I’ve written before about how National Geographic has a huge collection of stunning and inspiring images available for download from its photography contests; they make perfect wallpaper images to brighten up a drab desktop. However, trawling through the web site to find and download the right images can take a while, which is where NatGeo Wallpaper Downloader, a free Windows app, can come in handy.

The app will automatically search for, download and save all of the images that meet your requirements (you can specify image size and where to look for the images). Narrowing your requirements a little is a good idea, as there are over 5,000 photos available in the collection.

Where do you find wallpaper images to brighten up your desktop?

  1. Windows? People still use Windows?

Let me know when the Mac version comes out.

    1. It’s strange, but a lot of the really useful little homebrew apps like this don’t get replicated on the Mac (and I’m saying that as a Mac user).
